Position : Finance Officer

Reporting : CEO

Job Type : Full Time

Duration : 6 months Fixed Term Contract –with possible extension

Location : Gaziantep

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASK DEFINITION:

  • Review of documents submitted for payments and verification of payment vouchers
  • Review all amounts, budget lines, accounts, codes and verify arithmetic accuracy
  • Review and verify payment vouchers
  • Supervise accounting activities
  • Review journal and payment vouchers
  • Review Journals on Accounting Software on daily basis
  • Ensure all transactions are proper in the system
  • Regular follow up of all accounts (Accruals, advances, prepaid accounts…)
  • Responsible for all donor financial reporting
  • Ensure all required monthly reports and documents are sent to supporting partner/donor
  • Share financial information and documents requested by supporting partner/donor when needed.
  • Ensure proper accounting procedures and principles are followed
  • Ensure project allocations are accurate
  • Facilitate monthly review of vouchers with finance adviser and provide all necessary inputs.
  • Ensure following monthly, bi-monthly and annual reports are prepared and regularly reconciled: trial balance, financial statements, year-end financial statements, quarterly reports, fixed asset-ledger, Monthly Tax Returns, Social Security Returns and finance parts
  • Note that this job description must remain flexible to respond to additional tasks or changes identified by the department manager.

PROFILE REQUIRED:

  • Graduates from a relevant area in university) Banking and financial sciences or accounting.(
  • Very good level in English both written and verbal
  • Experience in NGO sector
  • Team oriented and strong communication skills
  • Able to work in intensive working conditions
  • Efficient knowledge on MS Office Programs
  • High level of responsibility
  • Turkish is a plus
